Advanced Time-of-Use (TOU) arbitrage

Neurio considers all aspects of a TOU bill when managing the battery, including Zero Export restrictions, Non-Bypassable Charges (NBCs), feed-in-tariffs (FITs), and minimum daily charges.

Demand charge minimization

Neurio forecasts peak demand and ensures the battery is sufficiently charged to handle it. Neurio then sets the discharge rate to ensure the battery lasts for the full duration of the peak event, with adjustments based on real-time load disaggregation.

How our Storage Optimization analytics work

Neurio’s Storage Optimization Analytics are based on daily load and generation forecasts for each home. These forecasts are updated in real-time and are powered by Neurio’s load disaggregation results, 3rd-party weather API integration, and Neurio’s high frequency energy monitor.

Real-time energy data

Neurio’s energy monitor measures real-time usage and generation data. This granular data is critical is understanding how a home is using energy and how much solar in being generated. The data is then used to build usage and generation forecast models for the home.

Predictive weather forecasting

Neurio uses weather data, combined with each home’s historical solar generation to build its daily generation forecasts. These forecasts are updated in real-time as the weather changes. Neurio also uses weather data to build and adjust its load forecasts, for example by predicting A/C and heat pump usage.

Load forecasting

Neurio’s machine learning algorithms use real-time data to break down energy consumption by appliance. Appliance usage patterns are then used to build Neurio’s daily load forecasts, which are updated in real-time based on the exact appliance usage for that day.
